Synopsis

The Brazilian congress is ideologically taken hostage by the conservative bench, the so called «bench BBB»—an acronym for bullets, beef, and Bible. This film follows the steps of Jean Wyllys, the only openly homosexual congressman in Brazil, in his social activism as a spokesman for LGBTTTIQ rights.

Caio_Cavechini_Entre_homens

Caio Cavechini (Brazil) is a journalist and documentalist. He has directed, among others, the films Carne y hueso (2011) and La casa de la abuela Neyde (2011), selected and awarded at several film festivals. Since 2006 he is a reporter, editor and scriptwriter of a TV Globo news program. He was part of the Emmy award-nominated team for a special report on drug addiction and received four more journalism awards, including the award-winning Vladimir Herzog.

Carlos Juliano Barros (Brazil) has a degree in journalism and a master's degree in human geography, both from the University of São Paulo. He is one of the founders of Repórter Brasil. Together with Caio Cavechini, he directed the documentary Carne y hueso (2011), selected at important film festivals in Brazil and abroad, such as DOK Leipzig and É Tudo Verdade. With the digital report «Moendo Gente», published by Repórter Brasil, he was a finalist of the German Development Media Awards.
