A group of friends with Down Syndrome have been going to the same school for 40 years but don’t want to be students any longer. Some of their parents died thinking that they would not outlive them. Also when their parents died, they thought that they could do everything that was forbidden by them: live by their own, have sex get married and have real jobs. However, things have not changed at all and they have to face the frustration of living as teenagers when they are actually 50.

Maite Alberdi (Chile, 1983) is a filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and interpreter. She holds a degree in aesthetics and in social communication. She is a Media Director at the Catholic University of Chile. She made her début as a filmmaker with the short film Los trapecistas (2005), followed by Las peluqueras (2007), El salvavidas (2011), La once (2014) and Yo no soy de aquí (2016). Her films have been awarded several times by the most prestigious film festivals in the world.
