Through five stories, narrated in Spain, United States, Finland, India and Mexico, Intimate Battles follows the road of resilience and reinvention of the protagonists who survived domestic violence, and conclude that love is not supposed to hurt and their home should be the safest place in the world. Five stories that expose the machismo reigning in our society nowadays.

Lucía Gajá (Mexico, 1974) is director and producer. He studied at the University Center for Cinematographic Studies (CUEC). She has been nominated three times for the Ariel award from the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC) and in 2005 won this award for her short documentary Soy. He has been a jury at different festivals in Mexico and part of the National System of Art Creators. He is currently an active member of the AMACC, where he serves as a member of the Coordinating Committee.
